Made in Huddersfield 2
Deadline: 31/03/2016Venue: Coffee Evolution, 8 Church Street | City: Huddersfield | Region: West Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Rachael Walker
Local artists required for small exhibition at Coffee Evolution as part of Made in Huddersfield 2 event on 15th April 2016.
Made in Huddersfield is back for the second instalment this spring!
We’re planning to make it bigger and better than last time, still a mix of all things Huddersfield but with an additional venue and live music as part of the event.
What to expect from MiH2:
We’re still in the planning stages but you can expect a mixture of art including a curated exhibition at Byram Arcade and one at Coffee Evolution in Huddersfield. Craft workshops by various local practitioners, food and drinks by local businesses. Live music during the evening and of course the fabulous drawing table will make an appearance once again!
As part of the event, we would like to ask any artists who would like to exhibit their work for the event to get in touch. We are looking for work that can be fixed to the walls at Coffee Evolution for the evening and for a month afterwards, so an opportunity for lots of people to see your work.
We want Made in Huddersfield events to be sustainable and to explore ways of generating income for artists, makers and musicians, so we will be asking people to make a "pay what you feel" contribution on the night. In order to keep things fair between different participants, art work in the exhibition can't be for sale, but everyone involved will be given an equal share of whatever donations are made during the event. The organisers are all volunteers and are not being paid.
If you're interested, please send a short artist statement and a maximum of 3 photos of your work you wish to be included (jpeg, gif). We encourage artists who already have work to apply rather than proposals as we don't want anyone to be out of pocket by producing artwork specially. There is no theme but space is limited so nothing bigger that 1 square metre.
Deadline for submissions is 31st March 2016 and the work will need to be ready for the week commencing 11th April. You must be available to drop your work off, we can't accept anything in the post and you must have your own insurance.
You must have an account to send a message to the curator of this opportunity. Registering only takes a few moments. Once registered you'll be able to keep track of all of your submissions and get updates on upcoming opportunities.
