We are looking for lots of lovely local artists and makers for our Art, Makers and Retro Market, which will take place at Sunny Bank Mills as part of the Farsley Community Weekend on 25th June.
Put your art on the walls and railings/ build a retro den / create a stall and be a part of this family weekend community event.
Activities taking place at Sunny Bank include the Art Market, Street Food, Trouble at the Mill (theatre /music and bar), Open Studios, creative play at Scrap, Children's art workshops in the Weaving Shed and Yarn Art all over. And our Archive will be open for heritage and textile addicts.
The theme this year is TEXTURES. We are thinking pom poms/ yarn bombing/ finger knitting and more so if you fancy making some pom poms to decorate your stall with ...
There will belive music/ lots of children activities (make and play)/ street food /performers /heritage
The Weekend starts on Friday evening with an Art Market Preview from 6pm – 8pm in the Studios followed by Trouble at Mill Comedy Night

Outside: the Main Yard
Inside: the Finishing Room next to the Gallery or the Spinning Mill Studios
External Stalls will be covered. Internal stalls will be based in one of two locations; The Finishing Room which in the afternoon will also be home to the Trouble At Mill Bar and light family entertainment/music and the Spinning Mill Studios where the resident studio holders will hold open studios and associated events. This is above Scrap on the second floor of the Spinning Mill and accessible by stairs and a lift.
Stalls if required in both inside locations will be based on old Mill furniture /tables.
Stall Holders exhibiting in the Studios will be expected to put their stall up ready for the Friday evening preview and all stall holders will be welcome to have samples of the work they will be selling in the market at the Preview evening; the intention of this is to showcase the work that will be on offer on the day
GUIDELINES
Fees and Commission;
· The fee per table is set out below. There will be no commission.
Outside Stall (covered)
£35
Includes £10 for market (covered) stall 8ft x 4ft which will be set up and taken down by volunteers
Outside Space inc wall/corner etc

Bring your own table if required
Inside Stall; Finishing Room /Studios
£30
Includes tables (mill furniture) if required
· The finishing room (inside) will also house a bar and stage run by Trouble at Mill. There will be some acoustic music
· Fees must be paid within 7 days of successful application
· Should you wish to use the card payment facilities in the Gallery for sales on the day there will be £1 fee per transaction to cover admin costs. It is up to you whether you pass that charge onto the customer. We will deduct it from your sales when we account to you. We will account to you as soon as is reasonably possible following the end of the event.
Setting Up/ Taking Down
· Stall holders in the Studios will be expected to set up on Friday afternoon and will have access from 4pm
· The formal event will run from 11am – 16.00pm. You may want to start earlier and finish a bit later as people will still be about until about 5pm. Please note that stalls will be dismantled from 5pm.
· You will be able to set up from 9.00am – there will be access to the Yard itself to enable you to unload only from 9 am– 10.30am. There are a number of car parks and side roads available for parking within Farsley and there may be allocated parking within the Mill
· Table allocation is at our discretion – please let us know if you have any preferences – e.g if you are an artist you may want a table under a wall or next to railings so you can hang some work.
- No vehicles (other than those with two wheels) will be permitted to move on site during the event
- Please keep the area round your stall tidy and free from tripping hazards. Exhibitors are responsible for displaying their work securely and safely
· Please complete packing as soon as possible after the event and in any event by 5.30pm. Please remove your rubbish (there are bins in front of the Mechanics workshop)
· There is no electricity supply outside and only limited supply inside.
General
· Promotion. Exhibitors agree to provide the event organisers on request with images of their work for marketing and promotional materials; including use on social media and marketing materials such as flyers
· Goods or work that is of an inflammable, noxious, obscene or other unsuitable for a family event may be excluded at the complete discretion of the organisers.
· Exhibitors will be liable for any damage they cause to the venue , stalls , equipment and or other furniture or facilities supplied by the organiser
· The organisers accept no liability for any costs , expenses or losses incurred should the event for whatever reason be cancelled.
Insurance
- Farsley Community Initiative and Sunny Bank Mills accept no liability for produce sold as part of the Market, or for damage to or loss of work or goods on display or to belongings or equipment of the exhibitors either during set up and take down and during the event itself, and in all instances recommend appropriate public liability insurance is held by stallholders. Stallholders are responsible for organizing their own insurance for their work.
