Greenbelt is a festival that is engaged with culture, inspired by the arts and sustained by faith; we aspire to be an open, generous community. It’s been established over 40 years and is attended by 20,000 people. This year the festival will be held over the bank holiday weekend (August 22nd to 25th) at Boughton House, three miles north-east of Kettering. Previous exhibitors in the visual arts programme at Greenbelt include Billy Childish, Anthony Green, Simone Lia, Bobby Baker and Willie Williams. Each year the festival adopts a theme, and this time it's ‘Travelling Light’. You can find out more about the event here - www.greenbelt.org.uk
Greenbelt's Visual Arts Department are looking for artists and creators to exhibit in The Allotment Gallery, our garden shed.
It's 2.4 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and1.9 metres high at apex (72" by 95" by 78") It has a door on the short side and a window on the long side.
It'll be placed in the woodland and we’re looking for around 20 artists to each exhibit for 2 hour periods throughout the weekend. The 2 hour period includes set up and take down.
More details:
Exhibitors will be expected to respect the shed and the artist coming after them.
Fixtures and fittings will be limited because of the delicate fabric of the building and you need to bear this in mind with your submission.
There will be a picture rail installed for hanging framed works.
