YVAN Nourish2017 Commission £3,000 fee plus materials budget Deadline Sunday 14 May

The Yorkshire & Humber Visual Arts Network (YVAN) is offering a funded collaboration with an artist or artists' group to help shape its upcoming conference event Nourish 2017 at the Humber Street Gallery in Hull on 30th September 2017.

The artistic collaborator will give Nourish 2017 a unique look and feel, by:

·                     Proposing a coherent visual concept for the event

·                     Customising the event space and creating associated graphics

·                     Providing input into how the event might be organised and  run

Nourish is YVAN’s programme of curated conversations with the region’s visual arts sector. The aim of Nourish2017 is to start a discussion with up to 200 of the region’s artists and visual arts organisations on matters of common concern and to identify shared ways of addressing opportunities and issues. 

YVAN has already identified four key areas of concern to the region’s visual arts sector which will form the basis of discussions at Nourish2017.  These are:

·         Diversity & Engagement

·         A Connected and Empowered Sector

·         Sustainability

·         Advocacy

Nourish 2017 will take place on 30th September, the first weekend of the Turner Prize exhibition at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, City of Culture 2017.  Tickets will be available soon from the YVAN website.

Individuals or organisations wishing to undertake this work should apply by the end of Sunday, 14th May, setting out in no more than 1500 words their outline proposal for the event and the qualifications and experience that make them suitable to organise the events.  You may include links to relevant websites and online media and relevant attachments such as CVs of photographs of relevant events not exceeding 10mb.

The fee for the work inclusive of tax, VAT and all expenses (excluding travel or accommodation) is £3000.  The appointed artist will have a materials budget taken from the overall event budget.
