As a visual artist I use a multidisciplinary approach using different mediums such as photography, painting, drawing and printmaking, I combine the surrounding environment with my conceptual and perceptual state of mind in my work. To be true to myself as a contemporary artist is to encapsulate not only the depiction of form but the mood and emotion that will lead to a response from the viewer.
The versatility of printmaking as a medium encourages growth and experimentation. I believe, as a printmaker to investigate, research and experiment with different techniques allows for inner growth and learning. The use of the abstract form through colour, shape and spontaneity is evident in my work. I see my art as expressive and contemplative. It engages the psyche and the sensations. It’s the combination of the natural setting at that time and the introspection of the mind that inspires me. It’s my desire to express and create the link between the fragility of the natural world and the wellbeing of humanity.
