Ian Burke
I am a painter and a printmaker based in North Yorkshire on the North York Moors. I produce large scale oil paintings and relief prints. I mainly work in etched Lino and carved woodblock.
I have a large Colombian press in my studio at the bottom of the garden which is used to produce my relief prints. At the other end of the studio that is where I produce my large scale canvases. My prints and paintings are based on personal ideas and my surroundings. I produce figurative work based on the coastline, moors ,my memories and my family and other animals. I have recently developed a passion for raptors and have a lot of drawings of these beautiful birds.
