Erika Loch United Kingdom
I am a poet, lyricist, creative and commercial writer based in the UK. Harnessing two decades of international, multi-sector experience across the luxury sector, WORDS by Erika Loch is a bespoke service geared at illuminating and showcasing the distinguishing features of artists, brands, collaborations, events, exhibitions, galleries, hotels, etc., through the lens and medium of poetry.
The practice of writing gives me space to explore the mechanics of thought, time to play with meaning, and a medium to work out the most authentic arrangement of words and means to express the myriad ideas that haunt, tease, and dance in my inner world and upon my soul. I write as a natural pathway to excavate meaning. Like a hummingbird when it comes to concepts and ideas, and a rabbit down a hole when intrigued by something newly discovered, I do not focus on any single theme, but recurring subject matter includes nature, consciousness, rebirth, lived and shared experience, memory, movement, time, trauma, recovery, society, humanity, freedom, and truth-seeding. The creative formats I am mainly drawn to are poetry, song lyrics, research pieces, articles and op-eds. I am currently writing a new book which is in the realm of narrative non-fiction – time, is the central character. I hope that my work helps readers feel or see something inside of them, conjure pictures, scenes, and landscapes in their mind’s eye; soften pain and/or bolster courage. If there is something to be learned, an emotion to be stirred, or a new perspective to be come upon through reading my work, I believe I have honoured the spirit of the craft.
