I am a visual artist based in Hastings and have exhibited, participated in and produced work for artists led projects, residencies and commissions in the UK and Europe. I work with a wide range of materials including installation, sculpture, film and photography and my practice is focused on an exploration of the relationship between our senses, architecture and space.

As a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation and photography my practice ranges from site responsive installation to smaller more intimate objects that often act in response to their exhibtion site. I like to make work that responds to place often using site related cues to lead the way; these might include physical, social or historical prompts. Previous works have been built on visits to or residencies at a post-industrial site, an abandoned sites, the domestic sphere, modernist architectural icons and heritage buildings. These places and sites also offer up additional richness through an exploration of related historical and social research or literature.

My practice is more process than production line; the 'in the moment thinking' and problem solving is the key to making advances in the breadth and depth of my practice. Often the structures and objects become like props, performing in response to location, changing form in response to space and the reading of a building or location. I like the idea that the work is always in a state of becoming.

I use a range of industrial and domestic materials, bought and found, enjoying their contrasting and clashing natures. eg wood, concrete, wire, velvet, canvas etc. By sorting, sifting, combining and reframing these materials I manufacture something akin an archaeological object, marked by the past and the accretions of time, yet shaped by the present context.
