I am developing a hybrid form of digital storytelling, a culmination of years of artistic practice as a writer, performer and facilitator. I make drawings, video art and short films as a basis from which to create stories where I incorporate illustrations, words and sound scapes to make sense of the constant flow of ideas that inhabit my brain.

I’ve been trying to get to the root of why I paint what I paint, after much ruminating I think I’ve realised the different avenues my mind travels down. I’ve become more interested recently in a still life aspect to my work, looking at old toys and discarded objects and it’s the stories about the past, that I can almost see- just out of reach and stories are the main diet of my imagination. Simon Le Boggit is a UK based multimedia artist focusing on the distillation of “meaning” from chaos. His recent works have resulted in the creation of mesmeric algorithmically generated surround-sound musical compositions and abstract videos capable of evoking unexpected waves of emotion and moments of “apparent intentionality”. His works have appeared in exhibitions and festivals worldwide.

Working with a range of materials I develop surfaces through sensory expressions, that evolve into portraits and landscapes. These become dynamic and intimate works that emerge from gestural mark making and experimentation with pigments and grounds. Self-portraits begin with a process of tactile observation of my own face. Landscapes are documented through sketches on site throughout the seasons.
