Ann M Dugdale Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
As mixed media artist, I have worked as a textile artist since I took early retirement 14 years ago. Recently, I have also restarted water colour painting and my work now includes a mixture of paint, fabrics, stitch, hand weaving and embellishments. I have taken many courses on textile art techniques, printing, eco dyeing, paper making. etc.
I started a group of textile artists in North London about 8 years ago. Originally I taught the techniques I use to the group but now we largely operate as a self help group, although I still run summer workshops for the messier techniques, such as hand dyeing, in my garden. We have held two exhibitions of our work in North London and are currently planning for a future exhibition. I have also exhibited my work as part of the Two Year Advanced Textile Art course at City Lit and in various galleries in the UK. My interests are eclectic and the subject matter of my work varies considerably, from a large wall hanging depicting the impact of human actions on climate, to small, 3D depictions of lichen and moulds.

Small Textiles20/07/2023 — 12/08/2023 I submitted a piece of work for this exhibition through Curator Space and was lucky enough to have it selected. It was one of a series of small pieces all based on liverworts and mosses, all greatly enlarged. It is three dimensional, fabric and embroidery stitches, with paper string embellishments. |
