    Sinead Barker (b.1989) is a textile artist based in York, North Yorkshire. She creates wildlife textile art using collaged fabrics and free-motion machine embroidery on hand-dyed canvas.     Ex Army Father of two beautiful girls and I work as a HGV driver in the UK. I got into art literally by accident, after a work place accident and recovering at home ,I took up pyrography to take my mind off the recovery. Since then and work permitting I do my art when I can. Only having weekends off from the road I love to dive into a piece for hours on end, the smell and sound is fantastic.

    I am a predominantly self taught artist working across a range of textile mediums with a particular focus on weaving currently. I use a range of different size handheld or tabletop looms, mainly working with natural & recycled fibres in combination with found objects that maybe natural or manmade.
