    I am a multi-media artist based in Yorkshire working in sculpture, performance, photography, video, printmaking and artist’s books. Much of my work is inspired by and takes place in, the landscape around me. Often I am the only audience for my on-site installations, works translated into artist’s books and digitally printed images, crossing the boundary between documentary and primary artwork.

    I am a fine art photographer and writer exploring humanity’s bond with nature. Influenced by loss and spiritual enquiry, I blend imagery and words to inspire stillness, wonder and reflection.     I started out in art creating pencil pet portraits for friends and family. When these proved popular, I branched out and began experimenting with a variety of media, and a variety of subjects. I am always learning, and thoroughly enjoying the process. I decided to take the plunge and set up a website for my art earlier in 2025.

    I am an emerging textile artist working with experimental eco-printing and cyanotype. A scientist by previous trade, I am currently studying for FdA degree in Textiles Practice at Bradford Art School. I am drawn to the overlap of science and nature with creativity, with production of serendipitous outcomes featuring botanical imagery using real plants and their pigments.

    A photo-based artist, through my own history of emigration, from Northern England to Aotearoa, New Zealand (and back and forth..) my work is concerned with notions of home and belonging and how we identify with our surrounding landscapes. I am currently engaged with various long-term social documentary projects, and the digitisation of my late grandfather - M J Burgess - photographic archive.

    Born in Nottinghamshire, Stuart Reid completed a Foundation course in Art and Design at Grimsby School of Art. He studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and Birmingham School of Art (Postgraduate Painting). He lives in East London and works in a Space Studio. His paintings have been shown nationally and internationally and are in public, corporate and private collections.
