    Through my work I want to explore the mythological representation of women and how stories have been influenced and reengineered by patriarchy. How women have been written out of folklore and how stories have been changed to fit in with this ideology.

    Sue is a contemporary yorkshire based artist gaining a Diploma in Fine Art, Jacob Kramer, 1993. BA Honours Degree in Art and Design at Bradford College In 1997. Exhibitions since; most notables The Royal Academy Summer Show 2024, Royal Cambrian 2023. Primarily Sue uses oil paint, to draw out intangible moments from specific memories. Layers of impasto being a striking feature of her work.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects. My work is informed by my Ph.D. thesis, activism and personal experience as a mix race person and migrant. Much of my work concentrates on themes of place and belonging, identify and social justice using photography, digital art and installations.

    I’m a local artist working from my studio at Art Space Portsmouth, Hampshire in the U.K. I graduated from The University of Chichester with a B.A. and an M.A. in Fine Art.     Katherine James is a Leeds based contemporary artist and jewellery maker. She is best known for her unique re-imaginings of armour, made by crafting chainmail into many different forms and materials to alter its symbolic values. Her chainmail works have varied from lace patterns to semi-melted to chaotic disorder. Lately her practice has explored the relationship between charcoal and silver.
