I am a UK based artist with many years experience in the Fine Art field. I trained and worked as a primary teacher early on in my career, before motherhood took over and I took time to raise my family. I returned to work as a teaching assistant and supply teacher part time, before I took the plunge and embarked on an access course in art and design. I haven't looked back since, gaining a BA, followed by an MA in Fine Art, and I am at present continuing my research.

I create sculptural lights using repurposed materials and everyday objects. My latest projects are a collaboration between my brother and me. The lights we craft together originate from ordinary items that we assemble into articulated shapes, which we then enhance with carefully selected paper and fabric coverings, along with a bespoke light source, resulting in beautiful, tactile lights.

My passion is for fabric and stitch, my background in illustration, fashion and hand-embroidery. Recently my practice has grown using new methodologies to create large-scale installations and interactions. My work is generous and inclusive, acting like a type of therapy, offered to the viewer with gentle humour. Methods I use are traditionally craft related, all familiar childhood activities.
