My rediscovery of artistic creativity began in 2009. Since then I have been exploring my joy in painting. I work with with acrylic paint and ink as well as drawing with pastels and charcoal. My pieces are mainly abstract energy pictures. I am based at the Astral Art Studio, The Old Library, High St Kirkcudbright DG6 4JW

I am a 65 year old artist working in both Halifax, West Yorkshire and Kirkcudbright. I returned to painting and crafting in 2009 after many years. I work with colour and texture whether in paint, ink, fabric or wool. I also enjoy reinterpreting found objects and integrating them into my work. As a photographer I was drawn to take up my camera during lockdown to capture the beauty of the natural world. I am inspired by the scenery of Dumfries & Galloway and my photographs often capture the unusual or unseen from my walks. My artwork represents my personal journey to find a place and space I can feel rooted in. As part of that I have expanded my alcohol ink work to merge in with my photography of the area. I love being able to tell the story of the land and Mother Nature through the mix of structure and abstract that this represents.

Experience as an Artist The Astral Art Shed, Hebden Bridge & Halifax & since 2023 Kirkcudbright - 2009 - present Starting in my bedroom then in various places (my Down 2 Earth Heart Centre, my house, my studio at Artsmill, Hebden Bridge and my studio shed in Halifax) I have been creating artwork for many years. I have participated in exhibitions and Hebden Bridge Open Studios events around West Yorkshire and Lancashire. My most recent adventure has been to relocate my studio work to the Astral Art Studio, Old Library, High St, Kirkcudbright where for the past two years I have taken part in events and exhibitions, most notably on the Kirkcudbright Arts & Crafts Trail and several open exhibitions at the Harbour Cottage Gallery.

I have been a member and exhibitor with Hebden Bridge Open Studios and Hebden Makes Christmas for the last ten years. After a break from exhibiting due to Covid I return to a full programme this year with the following events:
