Aprille McShane (b. 1975) is an artist based in Sheffield, UK. Largely self-taught, her practice began with printmaking and public art before expanding into painting in 2025.

I paint nature through a practice of spending time in the natural world, through daily walks, wonderings and attentive observation. This enables me to connect to a feeling - an expression that I bring into the studio, always with the intention of connecting honestly to the painting; how I’m painting; with the material; the surface and in that moment. Moving through nature allows time for contemplation, processing and letting go. Walking is fundamentally important to my work.
