Claire Morton Art London, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

I am a textile artist investigating mythology. My working methods incorporate traditional and contemporary techniques, such as wet felting, hand machine knitting, sculpture print, and stitch work.

BA in Fine Art, Community Art and Art Therapy. Studied Textiles @Morleycollege and a 2 year Advanced Textiles course @citylit

I create sculptures and textured felt faces from my imagination and interpretation of Myths.

The artworks are usually colourful, playful and a combination of various techniques.

Whilst there is a sense of surrealism, humour and theatricality in my work, I also hope to allow for a playful questioning of identity and what it may mean to the viewer.
