Clare Dean (Clare's Creations) West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Clare is a mixed media artist, primarily using, inks, acrylic and pastel with the addition of texture. She works in a loose spontaneous style.
I have always been interested in art and all things creative, having tried my hand at several crafts, sewing, knitting, patchwork, paper making and sugar craft, but have always wanted to return to painting, a love of mine as a child. In December 2000 I launched my business “Clare’s Creations” whilst still working full time in the NHS but now devote all my spare time to art.
Previous exhibitions have included RHS Harlow Carr, RHS Malvern and Tatton Shows and Harrogate Flower Show.
My painting career started with silk painting, moving on to mixed media, using inks, handmade paper and gesso but more recently I feel I have found a style with acrylics using palette knives and being inspired by meadows. As a keen gardener I am influenced by nature, the country, and my garden in which my studio is located.
I was successful in agreeing a licensing agreement for eight Christmas cards with a publisher in 2006 and was commissioned to produce 3 pieces of original work for a local restaurant in Wetherby several years ago and have done many commissions since I have a large range of floral, animal and bird cards and a range of Giclee prints.
I run workshops myself in the local area and am happy to provide demonstrations and workshops for art groups in the area.
