ZEROH: Daniel Hardiker and Neil Hetherington East Sussex, United Kingdom
We are Neil Hetherington and Daniel Hardiker and we work collaboratively as 'ZEROH'. We have been practicing art since we left art college in the 90's. We work in a variety of disciplines using emerging digital processes to create physical real world experiences.
Our artistic education led us into different practicing fields initially, Neil specialising in sculpture and Daniel in photography. As we have developed as practising artists we have embraced emerging technologies and found that creative digital process's can have a vital role in the production of a physical piece of art. As multi disciplined artists we have spent lots of our creative production time working digitally on exciting projects working in collaboration with artists such as film makers Andrew Kotting and Shelly Love, as well as working commercially in the music industry making backdrops for musical performances for The Who for example as well as our own public artworks. But for us, working digitally is only part of our story as we love to work with physical spaces and embrace all the opportunities and challenges that a space offers. We love to learn about a place, its own stories, physicality and its presence in the conscience of its community members or audiences that allow us as artists to respond in a way that fits the context and simply adds to the existing dimension of a space without detracting from its true spirit.
