Trying to capture the spontaneous embodied event of becoming by moving on canvas and paper with mixed media.

I work on canvas and on paper (Arches) which I increasingly enjoy more now.

I use my own paints made with pigments and binder. I also use household emulsions, clay paints, dry and oil pastels, charcoal and inks. I used to work with drawings and photos for many years.

After a period of being unwell, I decided to try to be in the moment, catching what needs to emerge with gestures, marks, tools : brushes, sculpted woodblocks, scrapers, metal wires, tissue paper, etc…

Listening to jazz as I paint is helping me to access the space where I contact my embodied vital energy. This process is both exhilarating and exhausting.

The more I trust this energy and do not interfere, the better the images are in recording the complexity of being in our world.
