I was born & grew up in southeast England and now live in the City of Manchester. I first became interested in photography at the age of eleven in the 1970's & am both self-taught & formally educated. I have had work published in several magazines & books, have worked with an award winning theatre company & my work is in private collections worldwide. I've exhibited in the UK & abroad.
I practice and teach, privately and in universities, historical and alternative methods of photography. My specific areas of focus include gum bichromate printing—a technique that renders paint light-sensitive—and wet plate collodion, which produces distinctive and unique images on glass or metal plates.
