Lily Hall London, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Lily Hall (b.2001) graduated with a First Class Honours in Fine Art from Leeds Arts University in 2022 and is currently studying on The Drawing Year 2025 at The Royal Drawing School and working in the heritage sector. Drawn to mysterious and mystical atmospheres, her paintings and drawings encapsulate a sensitivity that is both haunting yet intriguing.

Stillness and storytelling sit at the centre of my practice and I'm often influenced by mythology, dreams and writing. Whilst my work is rooted in observational drawing, I like to combine these pockets of the real world with this imagined imagery, to create ephemeral atmospheres which sit somewhere in between. Nocturnal atmospheres in particular recur in my paintings and drawings, for me these atmospheres are full of the stillness, luminousity and cloaked narratives I seek to translate. They're mysterious and evocative and charged.
