I am a Derbyshire based photographer and printmaker. I work in a variety of techniques: screenprinting, intaglio, relief and cyanotype. I am also a silversmith/jeweller.
I draw inspiration from all sorts of sources, and enjoy playing and experimenting with colour and texture. I’m particularly drawn to techniques that allow some crossover between my photography and printmaking, such as solar plate etching, screenprinting and cyanotype, and my own photos are often the basis for my print work. Printmaking techniques allow me to discover new dimensions to what might otherwise be very ordinary scenes. There are not usually any lofty ideals or philosophies behind my work; some pieces may be serious, others more whimsical and lighthearted. Above all, though, I create images for the sheer joy of making them and in the hope of spreading a little of that joy to those kind enough to look at them.
