I am a ceramic artist who currently lives and works in Amsterdam. My artworks feature distinctive organic forms with contrasting textures and colours of nature. I am passionate about our environment, my work very often represents the impact of human actions and the damage it is causing to the environment in particular oceanic ecosystems.
Driven by a reverence for the natural world, I embark on a creative journey that seeks to forge a connection with nature by incorporating organic forms and textures from the natural world. In doing so, I push the boundaries of aesthetics, forms, and techniques. My aim is to create unique ceramic work of the highest quality with which I can address pressing environmental concerns. My work very often represents the impact of human actions and the damage it is causing to the environment in particular oceanic ecosystems. My current work is influenced by corals and sea life: 'Coral reefs are key indicators of global ecosystem health. They serve as an early warning sign of what may happen to other less sensitive systems if the climate change is not urgently addressed. I like to use clay to represent impacted coral reefs and juxtapose this with representations of thriving sea life'.
