Sarah Parr Lincolnshire, United Kingdom
My practice specialises in printedTextiles weave and mixed media art. I currently work as a SEN TA. Working towards starting an MA in September.
My artistic practice consists of mixed media, weave, embroidery and print. I try to use recycled items where possible in my design process . Being a creative it pushes the boundaries of what I can do always on the look out for waste materials and ideas how to use flood my brain. I created paper weave pieces for my final exhibition at Lincoln College. Collecting discarded receipts, old dress making patterns, bakery bags and used cables set for landfill. Moving forward I was selected to be part of the Riverlite Festival in Sleaford. Instead of paper I used soft plastics. Collected from shops, the school I currently work at and fashion wear. I create handmade stencils and print to use at workshops. I wanted to create pieces that highlighted the climate crisis and try and change how we live. Still collecting papers and plastics ready for my next challenge.
