Darren is a metal sculpture artist originally from Leeds, who designs and makes functional yet prominent sculptures. The journey started in the mid 90's after completing my studies at the Leeds College of Art. I was successful in having a piece of work accepted into the Leeds Art Gallery, Open Artists Exhibition.

Taking the victorian era as a theme, one of my interests of working with metal has been to design sculptures to form victorian style lamps. Made from found metal objects which have been cut and shaped into what have become finished pieces.

I also use new metal for making chairs with unusual designs incorporating high levels of detail. The chairs are designed to be unique, sculptural and are quite often of a linear appearance, harnessing elegance within their designs.

My interest in metalwork has also led me to the opportunity of creating a Sculpture to mark the Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth II, for a local school. The Sculpture is proudly installed at the entrance.
