My work revolves around topics on being female within urban and public spaces, how we move through these spaces, and how we as women are affected in a world that has been built for a very a masculine way of life. I use the term psycho-vandalism to explore how catcalling and the potential of unwelcome altercations reshapes our experience of being in, and using public space.
I start by interviewing women about their experiences of moving through city spaces, and take photos of them to use towards the drawings/paintings I create. Their descriptions of events and where they have been, create a scenario and a feeling that I am aiming to capture within my work.
