I am a designer maker working often in ceramics. I see the beauty in the broken, overlooked and discarded. My latest work was using fully fired ceramics that were in the bin and, crushing these up, I put them inside jesmonite sculptures. I want to highlight the moments in our lives where we feel broken, worthless and discarded... in order to remind us we are strong and valuable.

I love to work in clay and feel there is an infinite world of possibilities to explore with glazes, processes and adding to the material. I have just touched the surface of experimenting in ceramics. I enjoy mould making and slip casting and have found this process transferable into making silicon mould and casting other materials like resin and Jesmonite.

I want to use more discarded and waste by product materials on my work alongside very familiar material such as clay, and more newer material like jesmonite.

I am very process driven but underlying my work is the concept that I'm convinced the majority of humanity has felt weak, fragile, worthless at some point in life and I want the materials I use to emulate this but put alongside precious metals and strong design to remind us that in the hardest times of life we are strong, valuable and resilient.
