Vix Fay West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

I am a printmaker and artist and I work from my attic studio in West Yorkshire. My prints are influenced by my love of being immersed in nature and my belief that everyone has a right to be wrapped in the natural world. They are also influenced by my love of arts that explore folklores, especially those relating to the changing seasons.

My prints are at their heart made using lino, chosen because it's more environmentally friendly than other soft relief printing mediums. In addition I will use any other materials and techniques to gain the desired result often painting directly on the print. The design for my print is first sketched by hand and then transferred to the lino plate and then the colour scheme is considered. My preferred palettes tends to be moody and atmospheric and often colours close to those that could be found in natural dyes and the moorland landscapes found not far from my studio.|
