Stephanie McCormick Glamorgan, United Kingdom
I was born in 1968 in Bridgend, Wales, where I am currently based. I retired in 2024 after a long and distinguished career as a Registered Nurse and am now focussing on developing my career as an artist having demonstrated a love and talent for art from a very young age.
As a multidisciplinary contemporary and wildlife artist, I primarily work with textiles and am known for my fine art embroidery. My practice also includes watercolour, gouache, and oils, blending traditional techniques with innovative approaches. My work focuses on wildlife, landscapes, and abstract themes, with a notable series, 'Garden Visitors' (2024), depicting British garden birds. I have participated in local exhibitions and was a finalist in the 'Artful Prize 2024' in Bristol, UK, and was included in the subsequent online exhibition. My work is represented in private collections, including the commission 'Monstera' (2022), held in the UK. Through my exhibitions and commissions, I continue to gain recognition in the contemporary art world, particularly within the realm of embroidery and wildlife art.
