Laura is an illustrative artist driven by a once stifled need for self expression, and meditative styled creativity, accumulating in mixed-media dreamscapes with the use of paint and marker pens. Vivid colours also play a vital role in the storytelling of each piece she creates.
Always having been an artist at heart, using it as an escape from the real world, ever since she was a child drawing abstract hedgehogs in the attic of her family home. To a person that often finds it hard to find the words to express themselves, often choosing to speak in metaphor over what others might seem as simple conversation, art has become something of a second language. The dreamscapes she creates incorporate caricature like versions of people she's known, situations shes experienced and places she had seen.
