Helen Wright West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
I am an artist and illustrator based in Yorkshire. My main focuses are floral art, landscape painting and children illustration, using a variety of media such as pen, acrylic and ink.
Since my days in college, I was taught to experiment in different media which has had a profound effect on my artwork for the past 14 years. I enjoy focusing on landscapes from my travels in south of France and around the U.K. From an early childhood, I was fortunate enough to go traveling on holiday with family & friends, to the point that I developed my passion for landscape, especially of European scenery. I find myself leaning towards acrylic as my medium of choice in landscape. Although Landscape could be seen as my main strength, I love the freedom I get from the experimentation of my floral art, since I can use as many styles as I would like. I prefer to do ones based on flower bouquets due to their colour and shape contrast. I have recently taken up illustration, particularly for children books. I always loved storytelling, especially in fairy tales. I would describe my illustrations as simple but with a dark twist against the contracting colours. I have been told more than once that I have a keen eye for colour.
