I am an artist based in Leeds making work across sculpture, moving image and animation, exploring the linkages and crossings between nature and environment; shifting between imagination and reality. I take inspiration from autobiographical objects, cycling, wildlife, traffic and nature, allowing them to perform together to tell ongoing stories with the environments I create.
Exploring the connections between us, nature and the environment using processes that create a fine balance between the handmade and the digital through sculptural art and film. I use the landscape, landmarks and autobiographical objects to investigate the fictional and nonfictional potential of place and memory, telling ongoing stories with environments I create.
My work often starts with a handmade process including textiles, painting and recycling personal old objects. At times I collaborate with performance artists which allow the objects to perform. I am interested in different forms of animation including stop motion and 3D video editing software that enable objects to perform sculpturally showing their true texture on film. The objects tell ongoing stories of their connection to the environment and their hidden fragility.
