Trevor R A Dingle East Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Born South Yorkshire, England 1969. I have always drawn and painted, then began photography seriously in the 1980s as a teenager, largely learning the technical aspects including film developing and printing from my father and developing my own eye.
Views and objects exist in the world around me and I decide where to place the frame around them. My work often produces questions. Pure light and shadow itself can be my subject. I often visualise the image I want and then return with camera and film to suit as a sculptor would choose his tools and stone. The slower process of using old film cameras and physically producing a negative slows me down and gives more thinking time per image. Most of my works are all as shot with an absolute minimum of post processing, sometimes even retaining some defects due to the basic and lo-fi nature of some of the equipment.
