The exhibition explores jobs that are socially appreciated but not valued or considered aspirational. People do not value these jobs economically or socially, and they see them as "stupid jobs." However, they allow us to have a better quality of life.

I want the artwork to explore is about jobs that are socially appreciated but are not valued or considered aspirational.

People do not value these jobs economically or socially, viewing them as “stupid jobs ”.

Take your local binman, restaurant waiter or bus driver as an example.Without these people providing a service to you, your modern life wouldn't be as convenient.

You could even argue that these working people are more crucial than your CEO or a lawyer. I'm reconsidering how we perceive these undervalued jobs that we rely on.

I want people to create art about the tension between having a "stupid job", and the lack of respect they receive from people who take their work for grantedI will accept an array of creative mediums, from sculpture and film to paintings and written work.

When an artist is selected, they need to write a testimony about their experiences with these jobs. Why are they hated but needed? Or tell me about your jobs ?

It does not cost anything to submit, but If selected, we ask the Artists for a £22 contribution (like crowdfunding) and/or to give some of their time, as we are all volunteers.

If you are selected for the exhibition, you will gain professional experience working alongside other artists and curators. This opportunity will allow your work to be viewed by a wider audience and provide a chance to connect with industry experts.
