CREATIVE BUSINESS DAY 2024: An open day where people of all ages can come and learn about what it’s like to run a creative business, with guest speakers and interactive activities.
We are looking for professional artists to participate in our Creative Business Day on September 7th 2024, from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Each speaker will be invited to speak about a specific topic, such as taxes, approaching art galleries and shops, framing artwork, setting up market stalls and more.
We would also like to include a Q&A session at the end where people can ask creative professionals any questions about their businesses.
This is a Paid Opportunity.
Requirement:
Please provide us with a proposal of what you would like to present to the audience as a guest speaker and creative professional.
Payment:
The creative professionals will be paid for their involvement at the going rate for artists in such roles.
Each speaker will be paid for their participation.
For example, if you would like to give a 20-minute presentation on a subject of your choosing, we will ask you for an invoice, and Fox Yard Studio will pay you.
This is a funded project by Stowmarket Town Council and Stowmarket Arts CIC.
To make this event happen, this funding will allow us to pay the speakers/creative professionals for their participation and time, promotional material as well as materials for the day.
Not only will people have access to resources and activities for free, but it will also help support good mental health and wellbeing and reduce isolation and anxiety.
Many people have found that earning money from doing something they are passionate about has changed the way they live for the better.
Letting people know they have a community that feels the same way is a great bonus to an event like this.

The application is free. Please submit a proposal for us to review, and you will get a reply from us in the first week of August.

The Fox Yard Studio - Art Gallery forms part of the Design Quarter of Stowmarket, which includes the Modece Architects, the Pallet Bar and Artspace.
These creative spaces are all integral components of the Old Fox Yard and the social life of the town of Stowmarket, which is found in the heart of Suffolk.
