Call for original, affordable, works on paper for online selling exhibition.
CuratorSpace has teamed up with The State of the Arts to bring you our first Members Open Exhibition just in time for Christmas! All CuratorSpace Artist and Artist Plus subscribers based in the UK are eligible to apply.
If you are not yet a subscriber, you can find out more and subscribe here.
We are looking for original, affordable, unframed works on paper for our first online selling exhibition. This includes drawing, painting, collage, photography, printmaking, illustration, embroidery, or anything else we haven’t thought of!
Why works on paper?
Our aim is to offer affordable works to encourage Christmas sales and for ease of posting. Therefore, all artworks should be available for sale and artists are responsible for posting work to buyers.
The exhibition will be hosted on The State of the Arts website. The State of The Arts formed in 2014 and with 50,000 visitors a year, who are all engaged creatives and followers of creative culture, has been providing space for cultural discussion ever since. As well as hosting and marketing the online gallery, they will also be featuring some of the artists chosen for the space.
Tips on applying
If you are applying with more than one artwork, please ensure that each work is of a similar style and quality.
Please apply with good quality images - make sure you photograph your work in natural light, face on to avoid shadows or distortion. Crop the image to the edges of the paper before sending your application.
Please provide a clear description of all materials used and processes. This could also include a brief statement about your inspiration.
Accepted submissions
Once you have been accepted you will receive an invitation to be part of the exhibition through CuratorSpace messages. Once you accept you will be taken to Stripe so that you can set up an account so that any payments can be automatically transferred to your bank account.
More information on how bookings should be managed will be sent to you if your submission is accepted.
Costs
Applicants must be a CuratorSpace Artist or Artist Plus subscriber. If you are not yet a subscriber, you can find out more and subscribe here.
There will also be 15% commission from any sales.
P&P costs will be covered by buyers and added onto the price at the checkout. P&P costs will be set at £8.50 for UK delivery and artists are expected to send work via Royal Mail special delivery to make sure that their work is insured in transit and arrives promptly.
Key dates:
Deadline: 30th October
Exhibition launch: 9th November
