Elmswell Library is looking for artists to exhibit. We are a village library in the heart of Suffolk with an exhibition space highly visible to all library users.

Elmswell Library has a prominent space within the library to exhibit artwork.

Each artist/group has their artwork up for around six weeks (subject to availability for putting up and taking down exhibitions).

We would like to have a mix of established artists and artists who are just starting out and are outsiders.

The space is roughly 240cm x 220cm, and there is space to sell prints (if the artist provides a stand).

We charge a 15% commission for artwork sold to support Suffolk Libraries as a charity.

The library is well used by the community, including children and adults, with the exhibition in a space used by all ages.

Over the years, we have exhibited a range of styles, subjects and media with the aim of providing an exhibition space that is used by everyone, including people who may not visit conventional galleries and exhibitions.

There is a rolling deadline as the artwork changes roughly every six weeks.

There are ten hooks although it is possible to fix artwork onto the wall in other ways if you provide the means.

We generally have exhibitions of single artists, so the final number is usually decided when putting up the exhibition and seeing what works best in the space.
