Insights of an Eco Artist is excited to announce an opportunity tailored to artists who are deeply passionate about the environment and committed to driving change through their artistic expression. We present "In Conversation," a series of interviews that will showcase your journey, artistry, and commitment to ecological causes.
Insights of an Eco Artist is a globally renowned art publication dedicated to contemporary art with a strong focus on issues related to social, political and ecological justice. Our platform serves as a space for artists and writers to engage with the critical topics that shape our world today.
Selected artists will be interviewed by Joana Alarcão, the founder of Insights of an Eco Artist, who is not only an artist but also a curator with a deep commitment to promoting art as a means of effecting positive change. These interviews aim to shine a light on your artistic career and delve into how your creative interventions play a vital role in raising ecological awareness and promoting change.

Eligibility: This open call is open to artists of all backgrounds, working in various mediums and styles, as long as their work engages with ecological themes. Your art should reflect your dedication to ecological justice and sustainability.

Returning Artists: If you have previously been featured or interviewed by us, you are welcome to submit new works.
Submission Process:

Submission Fee: FREE Submission for applicants.

Selection Fee: A SELECTION FEE OF €40 IS APPLIED TO SELECTED ARTISTS ONLY. This fee supports our efforts in creating your interview.

Personalized Interview: Upon selection, you will receive a personal interview consisting of 10 thought-provoking questions.

Featured Artworks: Your selected artworks will be prominently featured alongside the interview.

Permanent Publication: Your interview and artwork will be permanently published on our digital platform. Please note that these interviews will not appear in our print magazine.

Joana Alarcão, a Portuguese Eco-artist, curator, and editor, is an unwavering advocate for the fusion of art, social/environmental justice, and culture. Armed with a profound background in the arts and journalism, Joana has delved into the worlds of over 300 artists, diving deep into their creative processes and unique perspectives. These interviews have not only been featured in various media outlets but have also enriched her role as an editor and curator for "Insights of an Eco Artist." Through this platform, Joana has nurtured a vibrant community of artists driven by a shared passion for art that breeds change.
With the founding of this platform, for the past 3 years, Joana has created two editorial print magazines, a podcast, a myriad of reviews, and interviews available in video, audio, and written forms. Her multifaceted storytelling approach has woven connections among artists from diverse backgrounds, cultivating a dynamic and all-encompassing creative ecosystem.
Joana's work extends beyond the boundaries of her platform. She has collaborated with renowned magazines such as "Women to Women," "Public Offerings Ltd," and "Gatekeeper," as well as the esteemed NGO, "Creative Conscious," and "Arts Help." These collaborations have allowed her to amplify the voices of artists who are committed to creating art with a purpose.
