Deadline: 23/04/2025City: Malton & Norton, | Region: North Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Piers Edsall
Now in its 4th year Malton sculpture trail is fast becoming a favourite amongst locals and visitors alike, now including 2D artworks as well as 3D we are inviting artists to submit their work for the new expanded trail!
Malton sculpture trail began in 2020 and from then has gone from strength to strength.
The trail has now grown to our neighboring Norton and we now have permission for the trail to remain in place for 6 months throughout the summer season.
The trail launches alongside the famous " Malton Food Lovers Festival " which brings tens of thousands of visitors to our town to enjoy the historic market town making it the perfect outdoor gallery!
The event takes place in 3 parts:
The opening, as part of the Food lovers festival, utilises the fantastic festival atmosphere and the pedestrianised marketplace.
Malton & Norton extended trail; the selection panel will select the pieces suitable to be installed for the full 6 month trail.
The Dalby trail, the selection panel will select works suitable to be displayed in Dalby forest.
3D work must be suitable for permanent exterior installation in a public place and either freestanding or suitable for a 600x600mm plinth.
2D work will be scanned and printed as an exterior grade print.
2D work can be of any media.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate projection or sound at this time.
We encourage any visual formats to apply as we're always trying to develop and widen our range.
Each year, the intake is selected by an independent panel of artists and curators.
There is an award of £200 to the artist whose work garners the most public votes.
You can submit up to 4 artworks.
