For the 2025 York Festival of Ideas, Navigators Art is organising our second Micklegate Arts Trail, featuring the work of local artists (York and immediate vicinity) in a street-long exhibition between 31st May and 15th June 2025.

Micklegate is a beautiful and historic street but rather neglected by tourists and even residents.

The Micklegate Arts Trail seeks to redress this and to encourage appreciation of its sights and enterprises. it will include music and performance events as well as visual art.

Artists submitting work for the Arts Trail will be selected by businesses in Micklegate and invited to display their work in windows and walls on the premises.

Note: Navigators Art will forward all work submitted but will not be responsible for the selection process itself or for an artist being accepted or not.

If selected, an acceptance fee of £10 will be payable by each artist and business to Navigators Art, to cover brochure printing and other expenses.

An artwork may or may not be for sale. if it is sold, Navigators Art will request 10% commission. A further commission may be charged by the business/venue.

After submission and selection, all practical arrangements for display are to be made between the artist and the hosting business only. Each artist should organise their own insurance.

YOS / NYOS ARTISTS PLEASE NOTE: You should only submit works which you can commit to the Arts Trail. They must be available if selected.
