"Such a nasty woman!" The Nasty Women movement started as a reaction to "the Orange ones" remarks against Hillary Clinton. Since the initial show in New York, NW has grown into a massive movement which shows just what women are capable of. Cross Street Arts collective and gallery are now bringing an affiliated Nasty Women exhibition to Wigan, Greater Manchester, UK. We will be using the exhibition, complimentary craft fair and other events to raise money for some local charities who support women in the area. If you’re an artist and identify as a woman please take a look at the below opportunity.
The exhibition will be held at Cross Street Arts Gallery in Standish, Wigan. There will be a separate craft fair at The Old Courts, Wigan. We will be holding exhibition evenings on the opening 11th of August and closing party on Sat 2nd Sept.
We are looking for a diverse a range of work with Nasty Women and feminist themes, works can include painting, prints, textiles, sculpture, digital, moving image, art performance, etc. Please fill in the art submission form and send 1 jpg image to apply. All work can be sold to raise money for our charities, if you don’t want to sell your work please state NFS on the form. Please send prepaid postage for all works return. Maximum 2 submissions per artist, fill in a separate form per submission numbered 1 & 2. Series are classed as 1 work.
The show will open on Friday the 11th of August at the Cross Street Arts gallery and run for a month.

Informing successful submissions: Sat 8th July – Mon 10th July.
Deadline to receive posted CRAFT items: 20th July
Craft fair date: Late July, early Aug TBC
Deadline to receive successful ART WORK: Fri 4th Aug
Dates of exhibition: Fri 11th Aug – Sun 3rd Sept (open weekends and by appointment on weekdays)
Exhibition opening evening: Fri 11th Aug 7.30-9.30pm
Exhibition closing party: Sat 2nd Sept 7.30-9.30pm

The Brick: Raising money for sanitary products. “The Brick supports people from the streets to independent living. We have workers who meet with those living on the streets regularly to check on their well-being and to ensure that when they are ready, they are supported.” http://www.thebrick.org.uk/
