NTKO (Not That Kind Of) is a contemporary, welcoming and open art space and gallery championing the works of emerging alternative artists that dare to be a little 'louder'.

We decided to open NTKO because, after working with several different galleries and finding all wanting in some way, we decided that something needed to be opened run by artists for artists.

Speaking to other artists, we've found that many have had the same issues. It takes too long to get paid, the commission is too high, the owners have no idea about promotion, social media or getting in the press. The reason we personally decided to do it ourselves was down to creative control by galleries - being told our work was 'too controversial', needed to be toned down, be more commercial. As artists we strongly feel that once you lose control of your freedom of expression, there is no point any more!

The gallery space, which measures 18 feet x 30 feet, provides a bright and welcoming space to host solo and group shows, with various packages of support on offer. 

We are open to proposals from artists who share our ethos that art should be open to everyone, not just the rich and elite, not just those who have studied fine art at university, and those with something to say.

Costs

One week's rental of the art space starts at £350 per week. We have a range of packages available which include press coverage, marketing, catering, music and alcohol licences, etc.
