Open Call for Submissions: "Externalising the Internal" ***ISSUE 56***

Externalising the internal can refer to several approaches, including a psychological defence mechanism, a narrative therapy technique, and a way to cope with internal conflict. 

This could be your journey or that of communities.

Creativity is a wonderful opportunity for catharsis, healing and raising awareness, and we are excited to see your response.

We are seeking artwork from any media, writing, and opinions. If you submit a film, it must be Youtube or Vimeo, with the settings set to public.

Please provide at least three lines of context to accompany your work and your social media links.

Submission Guidelines: We welcome submissions in a variety of media, including:

• Visual Art: Paintings, drawings, sculptures, mixed media, digital art, collage, photography, and more.
• Text-based Work: Written or visual poetry, art journaling, experimental text, and other word-based art forms.
• Multidisciplinary/Other: Unclassifiable forms, assemblage, found objects, or installations.

Submission Specifications:

• Visual Art: Submit up to 3 images (.jpeg ) with titles, dimensions, and a brief description of each piece (max 200 words).
• Text-based Work: Submit up to 3 pieces in .docx or .pdf format, with each piece accompanied by a description of how it aligns with the theme.

Additional Requirements:

• A short bio (max 150 words) includes your background and connection to the theme.
• We will not select you if you have no Instagram account or one set to private.

Deadline for Submission:

5th January 2025

What to Expect:

Selected works will be featured in our online gallery and in the 56th Zine issue. This is promoted across our social networks and on our website.  

Terms and Conditions

• All submissions must be original works created by the applicant.
• Selected works will be featured in an online exhibition and/or a publication. By submitting, you grant us the right to display, publish, and promote your work as part of this project.
• Artists and writers retain all rights to their work.
