Call for Submissions: Kairos Exhibition by SPIRA9

Application Deadline: September 16, 2024

The Kairos exhibition, organized by SPIRA9, aims to showcase outstanding artworks and uncover artists' potential and value.

The selected works will not only be displayed to the public but will also provide artists with promotion and exposure through the exhibition platform, supporting their further development in the art world.

The word “Kairos” originates from ancient Greek, meaning a critical or opportune moment—a turning point that compels action.

We believe that art has the power to evoke "Kairos," serving as a call to seize the moment.

It urges us to recognise and embrace the urgency of the present, prompting us to act in these pivotal moments where the potential for profound transformation exists.

SPIRA9 introduces a new narrative of time, showcasing slices of time through fluidity, pause, and retrospection in art. In our space, time fractures and flows like the lines in Roberto Matta's "The Executioner."

It symbolises the endless ouroboros, integrating the past, present, and future into one. As Talbot states: “We can think differently about the structure of our lives, and the production of goods and food—living responsibly.

The key is whether you believe this is the right direction for the future.”

We invite artists to join us in transcending the traditional clock time and to delve into the undercurrents of time with their artworks.

Benefits for Selected Artists:

The artworks will be exhibited at a renowned gallery in Hackney Wick, East London.

The Spira9 exhibition team will provide optimal exhibition planning and technical support for each piece.

Artists will receive an official invitation letter and a recommendation letter personally signed by the gallery owner.

The artworks will be permanently displayed on the gallery's official website and widely promoted through social media.

Online and print exhibition coverage by The Wick, a leading UK creative media outlet.

Official exhibition news in the renowned UK art magazine **Wonderland Magazine** (with over 20 million subscribers).

We fully support artists in selling their artworks, and there will be no commission fee for any sales made.

We believe it's essential for artists to retain the total value of their work.

Eligibility:

Submissions are open to international artists, with no application fee. Select artists will need to pay 150GBP for participation.

(The participation fee covers several essential costs.

This includes hiring the venue, providing food and drinks, and inviting DJs for our opening event, creating a vibrant and memorable experience for all.

Additionally, the fee helps us promote the event through various channels, such as social media, local newspapers, our website, and relevant magazines.

We are also setting aside a portion of the fee for a prize fund.

Furthermore, we've hired a web developer to assist us in creating an online solo exhibition platform.

Some participating artists will be able to showcase their work through this platform, providing additional exposure beyond the physical event.

We have carefully calculated these expenses and believe the fee is reasonable considering the range of benefits offered to participating artists. We aim to make this opportunity as valuable as possible for everyone involved.)

Interested artists should send their submission materials by September 16. Selected artists will be notified by email.

Please include artwork information (title, dimensions, medium, year of creation, etc.) and an artist statement.
