If you enjoy experimenting with photography and know what a pinhole photo is, your stop here! Photographers and artists wanted for new pinhole zine SLOW. We'd like to hear from artists working in pinhole photography and mixed media styles related to pinhole photo or alternative methods of photo practice. We're interested in other interpretations and perspectives on the theme.

Criteria: 

Artists of any experience level, age 18 and over

Must be the creator and copyright holder of submitted work

New and existing work welcome

Must be able to provide print quality (300dpi) copies of work if selected for publishing in our zine

Images to be provided by 31 October 2024

This project is unfunded, and this opportunity is unpaid.

Copies of the zine will be available at cost price (exact price tbc) for contributing artists.

If you face any barriers to application or taking part, please contact us.

Work will not be edited, but we cannot guarantee exact colour replication due to printing constraints and paper types.

Brief feedback will be given to all applicants.

Artists may use a pseudonym.

About the organizer:

Svetlana Kotina, photographer, curator of photo exhibitions, and producer of art events in Russia, Israel and United Kingdom of Great Britain. I love the documentary art photography genre.

For me, this genre is the most valuable: the artist integrates photography into life, he remembers pieces of life with the help of digital or film.

I have problems with my memory and photography is a visual dotted line for me, with the help of which I believe in what is happening and remember what happened.

I try not to romanticize life in my photos too much, but also not to make it sharply realistic.

Lately, I have been fascinated by the topic of pinhole photography and alternative techniques. To do so, I created a zine dedicated to this subject.  

I hope this idea will catch the attention of talented photographers and will lead to the popularity of this type of niche photography.

My task is to create an international pinhole photography magazine and to show that many people from different countries are united by their love of such wonderful photographic experiments.

Let's up peace, curiosity, and joyful experimentation in the world, thus reducing anger, evil and war.
