An opportunity to exhibit figurative and animal inspired works in one of the biggest summer exhibitions in the North.

Each summer, Sculpture Lounge holds a major exhibition at their studio building in the picturesque town of Holmfirth.

Submissions are sought now for works in two and three dimensions across the price range.

This year we are looking for work that would be described as figurative, be that human or animal.

We are called the Sculpture Lounge but we also welcome wall based work, paintings, prints etc.

This is the open call for our curated exhibition in the gallery space. We are also seeking a selection of smaller works, editions and products for a pop-up shop area.

Please see the separate open call on CuratorSpace if you have suitable items for our shop.

Artists can enter both open calls. If you are not a figurative artist, then you can still apply for this other opportunity; it has an open brief.

The exhibition opens each weekend from the 7th June to the 13th July.

Additionally we open all week from the 7th July. We keep our exhibition installed for a further weekend for late viewing requests.

Sales commission is 40% (no VAT)

The following dates must be observed unless by prior arrangement:

Work must be delivered between 20th and 23rd May

Collection of unsold work: by Friday 1st August.

How many works can I submit?
Please submit up to three works in the first instance. Wherever possible please submit images of the actual work you will be exhibiting. If you are submitting similar work please indicate that this is the case.
When is the delivery date?
All work must be delivered between 20th and 23rd May.
When do I need to collect my work?
Work must be collected by 5.00 pm 1st August 2025.
How much does it cost?
This open call is free to enter.
Are there payments to artists?
Payments are made based upon sales. Sculpture Lounge Ltd take 40% commission and do not currently apply VAT to sales.
Does the location have disabled access?
Sculpture Lounge is not currently fully accessible. Our gallery is up one flight of stairs in a former textile mill.
Do I need to be present?
No, this is not an art fair or market, we represent your work as a gallery.
How do you decide on proposals?
We choose our artists for many reasons, including making sure we have works that will contribute to a cohesive exhibition. Please be realistic about submitting experimental works that may be practically difficult for our visitors to imagine placing in their home.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
You will be contacted by Sculpture Lounge regarding plans to deliver your work.
What kind of proposals are you looking for?
We like our audiences to be challenged and we're proud of the fact that we've displayed some incredibly ambitious artworks over the years. We try to strike a balance in our selection but please do remember that our aim is to curate a selling exhibition.
Can I arrange for a courier to deliver/collect my work?
Yes. If you send the work in re-usable packaging we will happily pack unsold works back up and make them available for your courier. Please note this is at your risk.
