Studio space available to share in Sowerby Bridge near Halifax – suitable for artists, potter/ceramicists, designer/makers

I have a ceramics studio set up in a unit at the Asquith Bottom Mills in Sowerby Bridge. It is a large 20x60foot unit and I am using just over half of it for my own ceramic studio and office, with the other half available to another ceramicist/potter, artist, designer/maker to share. I am looking for either 1 or more people who would like to share the space with me.

The space:

The empty space is approximately 6.5x7.5m (21'x25') - 48.75sqm (525sqft) and is walled off from my ceramics studio. It is accessible via double doors through my own studio. One or more people can share the space and I’m open to negotiations. The space can be split up / false ceiling put in but the space cannot have separate locks (landlord requirement as my name is on the lease). I am happy to help modify the space to make it more comfortable to work in (I already have some materials to begin with). My electric kiln is currently situated in the space (see photos) with the possibility of another being installed at a later date - they can be walled off if needed.

There is a parking area, or if you use public transport, it is only a short walk from the nearest bus stops and Sowerby Bridge train station.

Other information

  • The location is very secure
  • Running water
  • Free Wi-fi
  • 3phase electric

Cost:

£180 p/m

Currently, I pay for all the electricity but this may need to be negotiated depending on what the space is used for.

31 May 2018 - this is just the cut-off date for submitting proposals, please feel free to contact me after this date if you are interested in the studio space

At least 2 images to give me an idea of what you create

Proposals will be chosen based on images and artist statement
What kind of proposals are you looking for?
I am looking for an artist / maker who is willing to share the space, and is reasonably self-sufficient.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
I will contact you to arrange for you to view the space and to discuss terms. This will also give you the chance to ask any questions and to see if we would be happy sharing a space together - it is important that we get along and can respect each others working space.
