In response to rising costs of Higher Education, TheAntiMA Brighton aims to offer a collaborative and affordable approach to arts education. This artist led programme is free from the restraints of “box ticking” modules and course work and offers the participants the chance to set their own goals and outcomes for the duration.

TheAntiMA participants will arrange a series of exhibitions, events, lectures, crits and workshops, using each member’s skills and experience as a form of peer to peer learning. There are no upfront costs to join this programme but participants will be asked to contribute towards the cost of running exhibitions and events. These costs will be kept low and agreed upon by all members. Arts education should be accessible for all.

This is the first year that TheAntiMA programme will be running and we are thrilled to be hosted by Coachwerks Brighton, meeting on the 2nd Saturday of every month to avoid clashing with full time work and school timetables. We are looking for ten artists, designers, writers, performers, musicians and curators to join the programme and make it a successful and inspiring year for all.

To apply please upload the following:

1) Artist CV and a short introduction to you and your practice

2) 5-10 examples of artworks. This can be images, scans, links and attachments to any video/music/written work. Just make it clear and easy for us to see.

3) Give a brief outline of a workshop/lecture/educational experience that you could deliver to the other participants

4) And finally, why do you want to be a part of TheAntiMA programme and what do you hope to get from it!
