Winterfest Arts & Crafts Fair is an established event on the Thoresby calendar. Held in the unique Victorian Riding Hall at Thoresby Courtyard, it is designed to offer artists the opportunity to exhibit their talent & creativity and to give Christmas shoppers the experience of buying original handcrafted art they cannot find on the High Street. The Riding Hall provides an atmospheric location that is clean, dry and has easy access for loading & unloading.

Winterfest – Arts & Crafts Fair

Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th November 2015

Thoresby Courtyard is a retail and multi-arts venue, offering a diverse range of retail, cultural and arts activities, including Thoresby Gallery, Theatre, Various Exhibitions, and regular events in the surrounding Park.

We are inviting applications from artists producing quality original handcrafted goods to exhibit. (to include art, textiles, jewellery, glass, ceramics, sculpture, fashion, leather, wood, etc.)  We especially welcome applications from local artists.  No bought goods will be accepted.  All items must be offered for sale and to ensure diversity, we reserve the right to limit spaces allocated for each art genre through selection.

OPEN HOURS

The event will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on 7th & 8th November 2015.

You, the Traders can access the site form 8am the morning of Saturday 7th November 2015. If you could please clear away and leave the site by 6pm on Sunday 8th November 2015. 


STANDS
 

Each stand is a 6ft trestle table (Table Linen & Display equipment will not be provided on the day) we have general lighting within the hall, and one seat per stand (please ask if you require an additional seating). We only have limited stalls with access to electricity so please let us know ASAP if you require this (If so please send us your PAT testing certificates with your application form).   

 

PRICES & PAYMENT

Our Stall Prices:

A single Space for both days will be £120 (ex vat)

A double space for both days will be £200 (ex vat)

A space for just one of the days please enquire as this is of limited availability.

 

PUBLICITY

Thoresby Winterfest Arts & Crafts has been publicised within our What’s on Guides here at Thoresby Courtyard, and a local circulatory magazine. We have also put in an order for the making of a few banners for this event which will go out in the local area on all the main roundabouts. We also have an online social media campaign in the run up to the event.

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
We try to include as many local artists as possible but all crafters and artists are welcome. we do ask that all items are handmade, we will not applications where goods have been bought.
When is the deadline?
Our deadline for all applications is Sunday 1st November.
How many works can I submit?
you have the option to purchase a single (6ft) trestle table for the two days, or a double trestle space (12ft) for both days. to load with as much work as you can sell. you are welcome to bring any of your own stands and displays.
How long do I get to set up?
the hall will be available on Friday 6th November between 12pm and 5.30pm for artists come and start setting up. The Hall will be accessible from 8am on the 7th + 8th to open for the public at 10am.
How much does it cost?
A 6ft trestle space for the weekend is £144
A 12ft trestle space for the weekend is £240
Are there payments to artists?
All items sold are profit for the artists, there is no commission. there is no availability for card payments unless previously agreed with the venue.

What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
We put out a what's on guide that advertises the event, we have also put an advert in a local circular, we also have banners printed and put out. We have a online social media campaign in the run up to the event. we also publicise on our website and in our courtyard and nearby hotels, and visitor spots.
Do I need to be present?
All Stalls will need to be manned by a person as all items are for sale.
How do you decide on proposals?
we will only limit or reject applications if we decide that there is not enough variation of products on offer.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
we will make contact and ask that you complete our application form and sign our terms and conditions. we will then also send you an invoice for payment for the stand. Once the paperwork is signed and payment complete, we will be in touch to arrange set up times.
What kind of proposals are you looking for?
all homemade art, crafts artworks. unique items that aren't commonly found in local shops.
What is the selection criteria?
we welcome all applications we will only reject applications if we already have stands filled with items that are very similar to your own, or if we run out of space.
