We are looking for printmakers, artists and illustrators making prints, zines and artists books to have a stall at West Yorkshire Print Workshop’s first ever Zine & Print Fair on the 19 October at WYPW on the Piazza Huddersfield.

We are looking for people who make zine, artists books, etching, monoprint, screen print, bookbinding, calligraphy, linocut, lithograph, risograph, typograph, letterpress, Risograph and any other print using traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques. 

We encourage applications from individuals, collectives, small independent publishers and students. 

The fair will provide an opportunity to promote and sell your work as well as meet other artists and see their work. 

The Zine & Print Fair coincides with our exhibition showcasing a variety of zine makers. More details on the exhibition will be announced soon.

Stall Size and Fees

Full Size Stall: £30 
180 cm (W) x 75 cm (D) 
Full Size stalls have space for two people to sit comfortably behind.

Half-Size Stall: £15
90 cm (W) x 75 cm (D)
Half stalls do not provide enough space for more than one person to sit behind. 

If selected fees will need to be paid in advance by bank transfer.   

We are also asking all stall holders to donate a zine, print or other small artwork as a raffle prize that will be drawn on the day.

STALLHOLDER AGREEMENT

THIS AGREEMENT, dated as of July 25, 2024, is between West Yorkshire Print Workshop (“the Organisers”) and the applicant (“Participant”). Participant will be applying to participate in the Zine & Print Fair, 20024 (the “Event”) at West Yorkshire Print Workshop on the Piazza (the “Venue”).

By applying to take part in West Yorkshire Print Workshops Zine & Print Fair you are agreeing to the following:

  • Participants exhibit at their own risk and the Organisers cannot accept liability for any loss of and/or damage to any property. 
  • The Organisers reserve the right to request removal of any stall content that could be deemed of an offensive, inappropriate or dangerous nature.
  • The Participant must only set up on their allocated stall and ensure they nor their stall contents cause and obstruction or danger to other participants, staff or visitors to the venue. 
  • Participants must always keep their stall area free form littler and trip hazards. 
  • The Participant must not permanently mark or damage their allocated space or any part of the Venue.
  • If the participant is no longer able to attend for any reason, they must notify the organiser by email as soon as possible and request a refund. 
  • The Participant agrees to the recording of the Event for the documentation and promotion of the Organisers. Wherever possible the Participant will be credited.
  • The Participant agrees that any images they submit with the application form maybe be used for promotion of the Event should their application be successful.
  • The Participant is responsible for their own Public & Products Liability insurance and will be asked to provide proof of coverage before the event.
  • The Participant is responsible for their own Tax and National Insurance.
  • Participants are responsible for taking payments for their own sales. 
  • Participants keep 100% of all sales.

Do you take a commission on any sales?
No. Stallholders keep 100% of all sales.
Can I share a table?
Yes. We recommend a full size stall for anyone wishing to share. Please list all artists exhibiting in your application.
Do I need my own insurance?
Yes. All stall holders need to provide proof of an upto date Public & Products Liability insurance certificate.

You can get affordable PPL insurance tailored to artists by joining orginisations such as CuratorSpace, AN, Artists Union or Axis (Associate or Professional).

What is the selection process?
Stallholders will be selected a panel of WYPW Staff. The aim of the event is to showcase zine makers and printmaking methods. Applications will be judged on quality and originality.
What can be sold?
The focus of the fair is Zine’s, Artists Books and Prints and so these should majority of items for sale. We will accept the following:

• Zines, Artists Books and Comics
• Original art prints made using traditional and non-traditional print media
• Unique hand printed objects such as sculptures, cloths and homeware featuring original patterns and designs.
Access
Relaxed times: Each day, between 10:30-11am, we will have a relaxed half an hour where only half the lights will be turned on, no music will be played and no activities taking place, so that the gallery and spaces can be enjoyed quietly.

Bathroom facilities: unfortunately, the main toilets are up a flight of stairs in this old shop unit. There are nearby accessible toilet facilities and changing spaces at Huddersfield Town Hall, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and step free toilets at Lawrence Batley Theatre on Saturdays 10am-9:30pm

Blue badge parking is available near to the unit outside Huddersfield Town Hall, around 400m from the unit.

Guide Dogs are welcomed, and water can be provided on request

Wheelchair access: the entrance to the venue is step free accessible for wheelchair users.

Ear defenders and fidget toys and sensory equipment are available from reception on request
How big is the event?
We plan to have up to 20 Full Size Stalls at the fair as well as some demonstrations and activities in our learning space.
