Jarelle Francis is an independent curator, and political activist currently doing an MA in Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art. "WHAT A WASTE?"

This is an installation on climate change, my plan is to cover the outside of a gallery window with different works of art photography, paper, and material from different artists which will create a big collage. This will be left to the elements for the duration of the 6 days, so it degrades through rain. wind. etc.

I plan to scale this up to cover whole buildings for longer periods next year, so this is a tester on a smaller scale to guage public reaction, engagement and interest.

People walking past will be able to scan a QR code and head to a website highlighting the climate emergency ruining our planet. I expect this to be slightly controversial, people seeing good artwork "ruined"

It is also to coincide of "Just Stop Oil" who have been throwing food on Van Gogh's. We may hate the idea of ruining art, but why if we are so casual about ruining the planet?

Please understand that your work is a donation, I will not be selling any of it. As I said I would like to keep the work for another installation next year, or if you want it back (in what ever condition it is left in!) we can arrange for you to recieve it back. This is all last minute, I need the work by 18th November, I am based in London.

if you are an artist who would like to be involved, but do not have any spare prints I can print for you, if you give me permission to print the images.
