No.32 is seeking submissions of outdoor art and performance to display as part of Winter Sculpture Park 2025. ABOUT WINTER SCULPTURE PARK
Since 2020, No.32 has presented an annual group exhibition welcoming sculpture and public art activations to a field in South East London offering art to all, for free, in an attractive, unusual and accessible setting. Winter Sculpture Park differs from other galleries and other exhibitions in many ways, but predominantly in its motivations.
The Park has always welcomed a sense of camaraderie. The members of each cohort become linked through a mutual understanding of the purpose of putting public art in a field; of why we are doing what we’re doing and of the occasional absurdity of it. Everyone involved is united in a common goal of careful, creative, intentional disruption. By placing engaging artworks directly in the public realm, Winter Sculpture Park gets art in front of people and people in front of art, brings cultural intervention to London’s unassuming areas, provokes artistic engagement and response, and enables accessible, public use of private land.
THE SITE
Thamesview Golf Centre has been out of use for over a decade, leaving the attached green spaces fenced off and inaccessible to the public. The site hosts a neglected two story clubhouse with rooftop viewing platforms, a paved forecourt and two large fields separated by chain link fencing.
Developing ideas for Winter Sculpture Park submissions requires a consideration of the land for installation and durability. The No.32 team is here to support your plans with this! So do give us a nudge if you have any questions or need some advice.
